Notify When Left Behind on iPhone or iPad

Separation alerts for your devices can be enabled in iOS and iPadOS 15. Notify When Left Behind is an alarm app that’s with you on your iPhone or iPad, sending you a notification when you leave something behind.

Thus, if you leave your iDevice, Mac, or AirPods anywhere, you can receive an alert on one of your other devices notifying you that you’ve forgotten them.

Notify When Left Behind is an app that will text you if/when someone you’re connected with on your iPhone or iPad leaves their location.

Additionally, you may create Trusted Locations, which will allow you to leave your iPad at home without receiving an alert.

Separation notifications are available for iOS devices such as the iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Mac, as well as AirPods.

What you Need

Separated notifications operate by allowing one of your devices to share its (your) location with the other. This device will notify you when one of your other devices becomes disconnected from the device sharing your position.

Separation notifications can be configured using one of the following devices that can disclose your location:

  • iOS 15 or later on an iPhone or iPod touch.
  • iPad with iPadOS version 15 or later.

Separate notifications can be configured for the following:

  • iOS 15 or later on an iPhone or iPod touch.
  • iPad with iPadOS version 15 or later.
  • Apple silicon-based Mac running macOS Monterey or later.
  • Find My enabled AirPods – accessible for AirPods (3rd generation), AirPods Pro, and AirPods Max.
